start E-Bulletin: March 2009
Hello There!
We're sorry that we've had a quiet period in our communication lately. We are currently applying for new funding to continue and develop the stArt service. We're subsequently operating a very reduced service whilst we wait to find out about our funding situation.
Can you help us by giving your testimonial?
We're asking all of our service users to have a think about the ways in which stArt has helped them develop their enterprise or practice - and to write us a few lines for us to include in our funding applications. This will help our potential funders to better understand the value of the service to our users.
We don't need very much - just a sentence or two on how stArt has helped you through advice, training or networking. It would help us immensely and we hope it will contribute to us keeping the service live!
Please email your short testimonial to Sarah and Sian at start@artworks-mk.co.uk.
Many thanks in advance!
In the meantime, here are a few local opportunities:
Photographic Artists wanted! (MILTON KEYNES)
Photographic Art Group Milton Keynes: We are looking for Milton Keynes based photographic artists who would be interested in forming a photography collective to meet regularly to discuss our practice and also work towards local group exhibitions.
Please contact elizabeth.gordon@mac.com if you're interested.
New Diversity and Culture Portal (MILTON KEYNES)
We recommend a visit to Milton Keynes’ first BME/Diversity community web portal: http://www.themkmix.co.uk/

Rugby Writers (RUGBY)
Spring and Summer 2009 will see the installation of an inspiring piece of public art that was commissioned to celebrate Rugby’s literary heritage. You are invited to a Workshop to help finalise the names and writings of those literary figures with special links to Rugby that are to be commemorated by the work of art.
The Workshop will be held on Thursday 19th March, from 6pm – 8pm, in the Art Room (behind the Visitor Centre pod in the foyer of Rugby Art Gallery, Museum & Library)
For more information about the project or to book your place on the Workshop, please call Jan Dunseith on 07951 110656 (office hours) or email Jan.dunseith@rugby.gov.uk
